PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a ring network system and a ring node device for quickly executing switching of paths when a line disturbance occurs. SOLUTION: A high-order network 1 and a low-order network 2 are connected with each other by an RPR ring network 3 for executing data relay in the network 201. The RPR ring network 3 includes a pair of duplex ring node devices 31, 32 constituting a redundant path by being connected with the low-order network 2. When at least one of a pair of the duplex ring node devices 31, 32, for example, the device 31 executes the data relay in between the low-order network 2 and the duplex ring node device 31 of the paired device detects the line disturbance 200 between itself and the low-order network 2, the duplex ring node device 32 constituting the pair changes a path for the data relay by substitutionally executing the communication between a network node 20 in the low-order network 2 and the duplex ring node device 31 detecting the line disturbance.
