BACKREST FRAME FOR AUTOMOBILE SEAT

A backrest frame for an automobile seat. A backrest panel (1) is constructed from a metallic flat plate material having a shape that can rigidly receive an occupant (H). Side frames (2, 3) on both left and right sides are respectively projected from left and right sides of the backrest panel (1). A lower cross member (4) is secured to a portion near the lower end of the back face of the backrest panel (1) and to lower end sections of the left and right side frames (2, 3). A headrest stay (8) is supported on a headrest bracket (7) secured to an upper end section of the backrest panel (1). The lower cross member (4) is integrated with a band-like body section (4a) secured to the back face of the backrest panel (1) and with a left and right pair of installation pieces (4b) extended obliquely outward to the rear from both ends of the body section (4a) and individually secured to rear end sections of the left and right side frames (2, 3). When impact occurs by a rear collision, the backrest frame for an automobile deforms to reduce the impact and restrain the occupant reliably.
