<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a catalyst for carbon nanotube growth by which an inexpensive and uniform catalyst layer is formed and a carbon nanotube having a uniform height can be grown as a result. <P>SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of a catalyst for carbon nanotube growth includes: dissolving a transition metal salt into mixed liquid of at least one of ethanol, methanol and butanol, and terpineol; and forming a catalyst layer on a substrate by using the obtained solution. In the mixing proportion of at least one of ethanol, methanol and butanol, and terpineol, it is preferable that the proportion of the former is 65 to 85 wt% and the proportion of the latter is 15 to 35 wt%. The transition metal salt is preferably nitrate. The nitrate is preferably iron nitrate, nickel nitrate or cobalt nitrate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
