PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication apparatus capable of carrying out power line communication even when a frequency band of a signal transmitted on a power line is overlapped with a frequency band of noise and to provide a communication system. SOLUTION: The communication apparatus 1A includes: a relay section 3 with a transmission function of superimposing a transmission signal on a power line 10A and a reception function of extracting a received signal from the power line 10A; a noise elimination section 9 for eliminating a noise component from the signal transmitted on the power line 10A; and a control section 8 for detecting the noise component included in the signal transmitted on the power line 10A and controlling the frequency characteristic of the noise elimination section 9 to attenuate the detected noise component.
