PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material for a mud wall of a wooden house or the like to overcome inconveniences of a conventional mud wall attributed to its defects of long drying period, early degradation which occurs in a period as short as several years due to insufficient hardness, and increase in the cost and the weight causing degradation of durability of construction materials due to large amount of use of clay, of which the conventional mud wall has a composition prepared by mixing proper amounts of sand, lime, straw fibers for plastering, water, etc., into earth, and then kneading the resultant components. SOLUTION: Cement, sand, colored powder and rice straws are mixed into a roofing soil and are kneaded with water to prepare the material for the mud wall. The colored powder is yellow iron oxide. The rice straws are cut into 5 cm long. A compounding ratio of the material for the mud wall is a bag of 20 kg of the cement, about 10 shovels of the sand, 2 bags of 500 g of the yellow iron oxide as the colored powder, and about 3 plastering buckets of the rice straws, to a bag of 20 kg of the roofing soil.
