PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fitting device of a snap ring, preventing positional shifting of an insert tool disposed on a work to safely, easily and surely fit a snap ring in fitting the snap ring. SOLUTION: In this snap ring fitting device 7, the insert tool 21 provided with a tapered hole sequentially reduced in diameter from an inlet side 25 is disposed on the work 1 where a plurality of machined holes 5 are formed in the periphery of an opening part 3, and after the snap ring 13 is inserted in an inside diameter part 9 from the opening part 3 of the work 1 while it is pushed in from above along the tapered hole by a pressing member 23 and reduced in diameter, the snap ring 13 is elastically returned and mounted in a groove part 11 formed in the inside diameter part. The insert tool 21 is provided with a guide 33, which can be inserted in the machine holes 5 of the work 1 side for preventing positional shifting.
