PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for measuring impedance capable of precisely and easily measuring each impedance element ofπ-type impedance network. SOLUTION: The method of measuring the impedance of theπ-type impedance net work A in which the first impedance element is connected between the input terminal and output terminal, the second impedance element is connected between the input terminal and the earth terminal, and the third impedance element is connected between the output terminal and the earth terminal is that the measurement device 10 capable of measuring the transmission characteristics and reflection characteristics is connected with theπ-type impedance network A, thereby the transmission characteristics (S<SB>21</SB>or S<SB>12</SB>) and the reflection characteristics (S<SB>11</SB>and S<SB>22</SB>) are measured of theπ-type impedance network. From the measured transmission characteristics (S<SB>21</SB>or S<SB>12</SB>) and the reflection characteristics (S<SB>11</SB>and S<SB>22</SB>), the impedance Z<SB>dut</SB>of the first impedance element 1, and the impedance Z<SB>C1</SB>and Z<SB>C2</SB>of the second and third impedance element 2 and 3 are calculated.
