In the present invention, there is disclosed a process for preparing a polymer network, wherein the preparation process is characterized by: (i) preparation of a derivatized polymer by reacting a polymer containing at least one functional group comprising OH group, amino group, SH group, OSOi3H group, SOi3H group, OPOi3Hi2 group, OPOi3HRi11 group, POi3Hi2 group, POi3HRi11 group or COOH group with at least one activation agent or activation agent derivative in homogeneous and/or heterogenic phase; (ii) cross-linking the derivatized polymer obtained in the stage (i); (iii) adapting conformation of the cross-linked derivatized polymer of the step (ii) to at least one template compound by interaction of that polymer with the template compound resulting in at least one preferred conformation of that polymer, whereby the template compound is represented by a chemical compound or a biological structure. Described is also the invented polymer network per se and use thereof in separation processes of substances, conversion processes of substances, preparation processes of substances, recognition processes of substances or for detection of signals. |
