PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve timing adjusting device capable of improving assembly property and performing lock operation and lock release operation of a plate-like lock member smoothly always. SOLUTION: This valve timing adjusting device is provided with a first rotary body provided with a case provided with a plurality of shoes in protruding manner on an inner peripheral face, a second rotary body coming into slide-contact with an inner face of the first rotary body and having a lock channel provided in the axial direction on an outer peripheral face of a boss part, a plate-like lock member engaging with and disengaging from the lock channel, and an engaging channel provided along the axial direction in the shoe and storing and supporting the lock member.
