PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically add vocabulary to a conceptual system. SOLUTION: This community-dependent information retrieval system comprises a conceptual system management terminal 5. The terminal has functions of extracting a word having high retrieval frequency from words not registered in the conceptual system and retrieved as free words in reference to an operation history DB 4, analyzing a specialized field document DB 3 to determine whether this word is highly likely a keyword of the specialized field or not, analyzing a document actually browsed by a user from a retrieval result containing this keyword to determine concept with high relevancy to the keyword, and determining and adding the concept with the highest relevancy to the keyword among these concepts and concepts designated at the time of retrieval to the conceptual system of a community conceptual system DB 2.
