PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To pack a thin display device capable of protecting a large screen against vibration and impact during transport. SOLUTION: A packing structure for a thin display device is used to store the main body 1 of a liquid crystal television into a corrugated board box 23 such that holding members 25 and 26 are made to abut on with the left and right ends of the bottom of the main body 1 of the liquid crystal television and the left and right ends of the top of the main body 1. In such a packing structure, a sponge plate 6 is vertically disposed over the whole width and in the middle of the surface of a display panel almost over the entire width. A reinforcement plate 7 equal to or slightly greater than the sponge plate 6 in size is stuck to the rear face of the sponge plate 6. Freely turnable attaching pieces 15 to 20 are connected to the upper and lower ends of the reinforcement plate 7. The rear face of the main body 1 of the liquid crystal television is wrapped with the attaching pieces 15 to 20 and both ends of the segments 15 to 20 are connected. Thus, the widthwise center part of the front face of the display panel is pre-compressed to improve the vibration resistance of the display panel. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
