<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document management device suitable to combine documents, and to provide a document combining method, a document combining program, and a recording medium with the document combining program recorded therein. <P>SOLUTION: The document management device for managing stored documents is provided with: a document selecting means for selecting a plurality of documents; a document copying means for generating a copy document which is obtained by copying the document selected by the document selecting means, defining the document name of the copy document as the document name of the document before copying, and setting the document name of the document before copying to have a document name different from the document name of the document before copying; and a combined document preparing means for preparing a combined document which is obtained by combining the plurality of documents selected by the document selecting means.
