METHOD FOR PRODUCING VINYL ETHER-BASED MONOMER AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING POLYMER USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently producing a vinyl ether monomer from an alcohol having at least 2 hydroxy groups. SOLUTION: The vinyl ether-based monomer is produced by the method including (i) a process for producing a compound expressed by general formula (2); CH2=CH(OT)n(OR1)mOH (2) from the alcohol having at least 2 hydroxy groups expressed by general formula (1); H(OCH2CH2)q(OT)n(OR1)mOH (1) (wherein T expresses a 1-3C alkylene group or a 6-9C aryl chain; OR1expresses a 2-18C oxyalkylene chain; q expresses 0 or 1; n expresses 0 or 1; m expresses 0-4; m+n+q does not express 0) and (ii) a process for producing a compound and/or a derivative of the compound expressed by general formula (3); CH2=CH(OT)n(OR1)pH (3) (wherein p expresses average mole number of addition of OR1which is 5-300)by adding alkylene oxide to the compound expressed by general formula (2).
