<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shaft seal device of a fluid capable of minimizing the leakage of the fluid present in a fluid atmosphere space in the non-fluid atmosphere space of a rotating electric machine containing the fluid. <P>SOLUTION: This shaft seal device of the fluid comprises a brush holder 3 disposed to surround a rotating shaft 1 in the circumferential direction, holding a brush seal 4 in contact with the rotating shaft 1 so that the liquid present on either of the axial right and left sides does not leak to the other side and fixed to a stationary side structural member and a retaining plate 9 fixing the brush seals 4 into the brush holder 3. The plurality of brush seals 4 are disposed in the axial direction, and a fluid returning hole 12 for returning the fluid leaking through a brush 5 to the side where the liquid is present is formed between the brush seal 4a and the brush seal 4b. Thus, since the fluid leaking beyond the brush seals can be returned to the fluid atmosphere side space through the fluid returning hole 12, the amount of the fluid leaking to the non-fluid atmosphere side space beyond the brush seal can be minimized. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
