<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that it is difficult to view a print result as a result of processing for image reduction when a document is scanned by using a scanner and a scanned image is printed with a page layout Nin1 etc. <P>SOLUTION: When it is recognized that the scanned image is outputted with Nin1 and the scanned image is outputted with Nin1, output resolution in actual printing is determined based upon readout resolution of the scanner, outputtable resolution of a printer, and page layout information to perform resolution conversion of the scanned image.
