PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easy-handling and energy-saving, light-scattering type oil mist sensing device which reliably can detect oil mist without any electrically or mechanically powered suction mechanism even in such an environment containing a great deal of oil splash as the oil splash showers so much. SOLUTION: In this sensing device, at least a part of wall 62 which forms the above-stated oil mist lead-in chamber 61 consists of inner wall 63 and outer wall 62 arranged with clearance 65 in between, while through-holes 7, 8 are provided on each different position of the above inner wall 63 and outer wall 62, respectively, allowing oil mist to be led into the oil mist lead-in chamber 61 through the clearance 65 between those through-holes 7, 8 and the inner/outer walls.
