<p>An arriving direction estimator, which, unlike prior-art estimator, estimates arriving direction of a radar wave, or the like, using three or more sensors or antennas simultaneously. Operational expression for estimating the arriving direction of a radar wave is represented by sin-1(a×tan-1b) where a is equal to d/? determined by the antenna interval d and the wavelength ? such as the carrier of radar wave being used. When three or more antennas are used simultaneously, a can have a value dependent on the difference between a value d0/? based on a first antenna interval and a value d1/? based on a second antenna interval. Since the absolute interval of antenna d/? need not be adjusted but the interval (d1-d0)/? only need be adjusted when the measurement range of an arriving direction is to be widened, restriction on antenna design is relaxed and the measurement range of an arriving direction can be set appropriately.</p> |
