PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow easy calculation of a variation of an injection quantity. SOLUTION: A fuel injection device is equipped with a common rail 13 and a fuel injection valve 3 connected to the common rail 13. A reference variation of the injection quantity for later injection at the time when rail pressure is a reference rail pressure is stored, and an injection quantity gain to be multiplied to the reference variation when calculating a variation of the injection quantity for the later injection at the time when the rail pressure is not the reference rail pressure is stored as a function of the injection quantity of the later injection. The injection quantity gain is calculated from a relation of a length of an injection command pulse to the fuel injection valve and the injection quantity from the injection valve.
