摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new polymerizable liquid crystal compound satisfying characteristics required for an optically anisotropic material and having high durability for blue laser beams, to provide a polymerizable liquid crystal composition comprising the liquid crystal compound and to provide the optically anisotropic material and an optical element using the liquid crystal composition. SOLUTION: The polymerizable liquid crystal compound is represented by formula (1) CH<SB>2</SB>=CR<SP>1</SP>-COO-(L)<SB>n</SB>-Ph-[(CH<SB>2</SB>)<SB>2</SB>]<SB>p</SB>-Ph-[(CH<SB>2</SB>)<SB>2</SB>]<SB>q</SB>-C<SB>y</SB>-R<SP>2</SP>äwherein, symbols in the formula represent each the following meaning; R<SP>1</SP>is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; R<SP>2</SP>is a 1-8C alkyl group; L is a 1,4-phenylene group which may be substituted, a trans-1,4-cyclohexylene group which may be substituted or a -(CH<SB>2</SB>)<SB>k</SB>O- (wherein, k is an integer of 2-12); Cy is a trans-1,4-cyclohexylene group; and n, p and q are each 0 or 1}. The polymerizable liquid crystal composition comprises the liquid crystal compound. The optically anisotropic material and the optical element are obtained by using the liquid crystal composition.
