PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bumper main beam to be mounted on a vehicle and equipped with an enhanced E/A absorbing efficiency, capable of reducing the impact given by the vehicle to a pedestrian in collision and also reducing physical damage of the occupant of the vehicle. SOLUTION: The bumper main beam extending in the width direction of the vehicle is structured so that the upper wall and an intermediate piece of the lower part are formed inclining downward while the lower wall and an intermediate piece of the upper part are formed inclining upward.
