The sensor element has a dielectric substrate (101) to which a conductive structure (130) is applied comprising an inductive and/or capacitive component that is influenced by the substrate. A sensor surface (110) receives sample material and is arranged in contact with the substrate and near enough to the conductive structure that the sample material interacts electromagnetically with the conductive structure, which forms a resonant circuit. At least one electronic device (120) is provided in the substrate, the state of which is reproducibly dependent on a specific environmental parameter acting on the sensor element. The electronic device may be a temperature-dependent resistor, or pressure-sensitive device. Independent claims are included for a glass sheet structure, a measuring system, a method of producing an output signal from a sensor element, and a method of controlling a device using an output signal.
