A pneumatic tire having belt-shaped sound absorbing members. The belt-shaped sound absorbing members are mounted on the radially inner surface of the tread facing to the cavity of the pneumatic tire at prescribed intervals circumferentially of the tire by a fixing elastic band. The belt-shaped sound absorbing members each comprise at least one layer formed of a porous material having an apparent density of 10 kg/m³ to 70 kg/m³.
