PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform reproduction from the middle of audio data at high speed. SOLUTION: The encoded digital audio reproduction apparatus reproduces the audio data in an encoded audio file having a data part including the audio data configured as a frame column and a size part including the size information of each frame by sequentially decoding the data from the top frame. An encoded audio file is read out of a recording medium and the position information of the each frame is calculated at every other prescribed frames and is held in a table. When the reproduction request from the arbitrary frame in the audio data is inputted, the frame satisfying the prescribed position standard with respect to the arbitrary frame is determined as the reproduction start frame by referring to the table, and the audio data after the determined reproduction start frame is read from the recording medium.
