PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel control device for an engine capable of ensuring excellent engine startability when an opening failure occurs to a hydrogen-injection valve in a dual-fuel engine equipped with a hydrogen-injection valve for injecting and supplying gaseous hydrogen and a gasoline-injection valve for injecting and supplying gasoline. SOLUTION: The fuel control device for the engine equipped with the hydrogen-injection valve for injecting and supplying gaseous hydrogen, and a gasoline-injection valve for injecting and supplying gasoline, is provided with a failure-detecting means for detecting the opening failure in which the hydrogen-injection valve is left open; a shut-off valve provided upstream of the hydrogen-injection valve in a hydrogen supply passage communicating with the hydrogen-injection valve and controlling the supply of hydrogen to the hydrogen-injection valve; and a control means for closing the shut-off valve and switching a fuel supply source to the gasoline-injection valve from the hydrogen-injection valve in the case of detecting the opening failure by the failure-detecting means.
