PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that the terminal position of a public-private work cannot be recognized in the public-private boundary position of plumbing for an underground cable and therefore, the workability in digging up the terminal position in the subsequent private work is inferior. SOLUTION: At the time of performing the public-private work of the underground cable in the public-private boundary position, a pipe joint 40 is connected to the terminal of a branch pipe 30 and a sign rod 60 of a prescribed length is erected in a sign rod erection section 41 of the pipe joint 40 and thereafter, the pipe joint 40 is backfilled. Then, an earth surface sign 61 disposed in the top end area of the sign rod 60 is exposed on the earth surface. At the time of performing the private work on a housing land compartment side, a construction operator is able easily check the earth surface sign 61 and to recognize the public-private boundary position to be buried with the pipe joint 40.
