An inner drum-type image forming apparatus retains a thin plate-like recording medium on an inner peripheral surface formed in an inner drum and records an image by deflecting a light beam modulated in accordance with image information with a light deflector, and conducting scanning/exposure. Plural vacuum suction-use grooves are punched in, such that they run along the circumference of, the inner peripheral surface portion of the inner drum. Vacuum suction holes are punched in the inner drum such that the holes communicate with a conveyance-direction leading end side of the recording medium in the vacuum suction-use grooves and suck air. A conveyance-direction trailing end portion of the recording medium is held down on the inner peripheral surface of the inner drum by a rise prevention device in a state where the recording medium is vacuum-sucked onto the inner peripheral surface of the inner drum. |
