<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain speed up of image processing and data transfer while suppressing deterioration in image quality. <P>SOLUTION: A device for image processing includes (A) a multi-value processing section which generates multi-valued gradation value data by subjecting gradation values of respective pixels constituting an image represented with image data to multi-value processing according to resolution of an output image based upon the image data; and (B) a data generation section for dot formation which converts the multi-valued gradation value data into dot quantity data representing the number of dots, determines whether a dot is formed individually for one or more pixels, and generates data for dot formation of the output image having the resolution while using at least some of the one or more pixels whose dot formation is determined as pixels constituting the output image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
