Portable data medium has a body with an electrical component (6) and an electronic module (3). The electronic module is embedded in the body and is connected with the electrical component using an electrically conductive connection. The electrical conductive connection is formed by electrical contact mechanism of the electronic module and the body. The contact mechanism of the module is designed as electrical conductive bands : An independent claim is also included for a method of manufacturing the above portable data medium.
