<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a merchandise management system for presenting the current inventory circumstances of a user and a purchase list prepared from the inventory information to the user, and for preventing the waste of purchase or the forgetfulness to purchase merchandise. <P>SOLUTION: This food inventory management system is provided with a user side portable terminal 1, a store server 20a set in a store, a card 40a for sales promotion available in the store and a common server 30 for controlling stores. The store server is provided with a store server application 21, a POS system 22 and a customer information DB23. The common server 30 is provided with a common server application 31 and a purchase history information database 32 and a communication interface 33 for communicating between the portable terminals 1 and 10.
