The valve has a body (12), in which a piston (22) is adjustable in an axial direction against a pressure of a compression spring (18). A flow channel (30) arranged in the body has a tap (26) in rigid connection. A sealing ring (28), torus-shaped in an initial state is arranged, in the channel and provided in a circulating sealing seat (29). The channel is sealed and between the radially internal side of the sealing ring and the channel a circulating retaining element extends on the tap. A side of the sealing seat has an opening in the channel where the sealing ring cooperates with the tap.
