<p>A constant velocity universal joint and a boot for the constant velocity universal joint. The constant velocity universal joint is so formed that the outer peripheral surface of the boot mounting part of its outer joint member (2) is formed in a non-cylindrical shape in cross section in which large diameter parts (22a) and small diameter parts (22b) appear alternately. The thermoplastic elastomer boot (10) comprises a large diameter mounting part (12) fitted to the boot mounting part of the outer joint member (2), a small diameter mounting part (14) fitted to a second rotating shaft (3), and a corrugated part (16) between the large diameter mounting part (12) and the small diameter mounting part (14). The large diameter mounting part (12) is so formed that, in cross section, its outer peripheral surface is circular and its inner peripheral surface is along the outer peripheral surface of the boot mounting part of the outer joint member (2), and its thin-walled parts (12a) and its thick-walled parts (12b) appear alternately. The entire part of the large diameter mounting part (12) is filled with a material.</p> |
