PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer capable of certainly preventing paper jam when a delivery port of recording paper is blocked. SOLUTION: In a recording paper delivery side unit 10 of the printer 1, a recording paper delivery passage 16 for leading the recording paper 2 to the recording paper delivery port 11 is formed by a fixing side paper guide 14 and a movable side paper guide 15. The recording paper 2 fed out from a paper feed roller 5 is certainly led to the delivery side by the movable side paper guide 15 retained in the non-rotatable state. When a leading end 2a of the recording paper 2 is fed to a clearance between the fixing side paper guide 14 and the movable side paper guide 15, the movable side paper guide 15 is floated up by the leading end 2a of the recording paper 2 and is switched in the turnable state. When the recording paper delivery port 11 is blocked, the movable side paper guide 15 is pushed by the recording paper 2 and is upwardly turned and a retention space 50 for retaining the recording paper 2 in a loop shape is formed.
