PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a construction method for an underground structure, which inexpensively prevents the lift of an existing hollow underground structure, without the need for auxiliary measures, prevents the prolongation of a construction period, and enables safe construction, when the new underground structure is constructed in a close position above the hollow underground structure such as an existing tunnel or other underground structures. SOLUTION: In this construction method for the underground structure, wherein the underground structure such as a concrete box 2 is constructed in a close position above the existing hollow underground structure such as the existing tunnel 1, a starting shaft 9 and an arrival shaft 10 are constructed on both the sides of the existing hollow underground structure; sediment, which is left above the existing hollow underground structure, is excavated; the new underground structure is moved to the arrival shaft 10 from the starting shaft 9 while being substituted for the sediment, so as to be installed above the existing hollow underground structure; and thus, a load, which is required for the action of preventing buoyancy from being applied to the existing underground structure by the sediment left above the existing underground structure, is gradually substituted with the new underground structure.
