PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antenna element with a reduced Q value, the increased frequency bandwidth and radiation gain, less variation in the resonance frequency and the VSWR, and less number of manufacturing man-hours that facilitates impedance matching with a feeding system. SOLUTION: The antenna element includes: (a) an insulating substrate 1; (b) a first conductor layer 2 for covering the upper surface of the insulating substrate 1; (c) a belt-like slot 3 formed on an upper side of the first conductor layer 2; (d) a belt-like insulated extension 31 extended from nearly the middle part of the slot 3 to the side face of the insulating substrate 1 at a right angle; and (e) a belt-like second conductor layer 4 deposited in the insulated extension 31 and electrically insulated from the first conductor layer 2, and the second conductor layer 4 is characterized in to be electrically connected to the feeding system.
