A method for recuperation of thermal energy and mitigation of harmful effect of exhaust gases, for instance in boilers for heating heat carrier, by passing exhaust gases through oxygen-containing substance with following compression and burning of evaporation products. After gases passing, for instance, through water or other oxygen-containing substance, evaporation products can be additionally heated by exhaust gases or in other way, or exhaust gases and in other way, and then those are burned in boiler or supplied to inside of the heat carrier, or used in another way.
