PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a weather strip capable of outstanding improvement of mounting work easiness and stabilization of a mounted state while preventing lowering of productivity. SOLUTION: The weather strip 4 is provided on a door opening peripheral edge on the body side corresponding to an automobile door. The weather strip 4 is furnished with a trim part 5, etc., and a variable holding lip part 16 is integrally formed on an inner surface of an indoor side side wall 11. The weather strip 4 is molded so that length and shape of the variable holding lip part 16 gradually differ along the longitudinal direction in accordance with the thickness of a flange. An extending angle of a head end part 16b is bent and formed smaller and roughly at a right angle while an extending angle of a base end part 16a of the variable holding lip part 16 against a flange surface is the same as an extending angle of the third version which is shortest at the first version with the longest variable holding lip part 16.
