PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To guide update of map data of an area which a user desires to the user who desires update information of the map data of a navigation device. SOLUTION: Whether or not a point preliminarily specified by a user is included in an area including a shape dot point on a new road is retrieved (S100-S114) and when the point specified by the user is included in the area, guidance of update of the map data is transmitted to the user who specifies the point included in the area (S116).
