<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for improving sterilizing effect and a sterilizing apparatus suitable for practicing such sterilizing method in the sterilizing method using ozone. <P>SOLUTION: The method for sterilizing crops comprises a step (a) for depressurizing an atmosphere in which a material to be sterilized is stored and a step (b) for feeding ozone to the material to be sterilized stored in the depressurized atmosphere. The present invention can obtain remarkable effect when the material to be sterilized is a seed or a bulb.
