PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the labor and cost required to clean seawater. SOLUTION: An apparatus for cleaning seawater is arranged in a muddy bottom layer on the seabed so that the ground water in a gravel layer is sucked up to the seabed and mixed in seawater to clean seawater. The ground water is sucked up to the seabed by utilizing the action of a tide. In the concrete, a negative pressure generating part for generating negative pressure by the action of the tide is formed at the upper end part of a communicative pipe which penetrates the muddy bottom layer on the seabed and reaches the gravel layer so that the ground water in the gravel layer is sucked up to the seabed through the communicative pipe by utilizing the negative pressure generated in the negative pressure generating part.
