PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the rotational friction torque between the inside diameter surface of an outer ring and an inner ring. SOLUTION: This one-way clutch includes: the outer ring 1 formed of an annular member having side walls 1a, 1b on both sides and a U-shaped section; a plurality of sprags 2 provided in the outer ring 1; and an elastic member 3 for energizing the respective sprags 2 in the engagement directions, wherein torque is transmitted and stopped between the outer ring 1 and the inner ring through the respective sprags 2. The tip edges of two side walls 1a, 1b of the outer ring 1 are provided with inward flanges 1F, 1F, and the inner ring is able to slide taking the inside diameter surface 6 of both flange parts 1F, 1F as a sliding part. An opening part is provided so that the sliding surfaces of the respective sliding parts are discontinuous in the circumferential direction, and a cutout part 4 cut out extending from the opening part to the radial extended part is provided. The respective sliding parts are provided opposite to each other in the same position in the circumferential direction of the outer ring 1, and the sliding surfaces of the sliding parts opposite to each other in the same position in the circumferential direction are flat surfaces within the same plane orthogonal to the axial direction and the radial direction of the outer ring 1, whereby the contact area between the inner ring and the outer ring 1 is decreased to reduce the rotational friction torque between them.
