FIELD: low-voltage knife-switches (disconnecting switches). ^ SUBSTANCE: proposed knife switch designed to create visible open circuit in up to 440-V dc mains and in up to 500-V, 50 Hz ac mains has fixed breaking spring contact provided with device enhancing contact pressure normal to contacting surface, and rotary knife-type contact. Contact pressure enhancing device is made in the form of metal rods with spiral springs and is disposed at contacting point on jaws of fixed breaking spring contact. Contacting part of rotary knife-type contact is made in the form of rectangular lobe whose dimensions ensure its easy entrance in space between rods provided with spiral springs. ^ EFFECT: enhanced reliability of contact afforded by knife-switch due to reduced contact resistance which enhances its thermal stability and operating current. ^ 1 cl, 4 dwg |
