OPTICAL DEVICE AND HAND SHAKE CORRECTION DEVICE CONTROL METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumed for hand shake correction of an optical device that uses a stepping motor as a drive source.

SOLUTION: The optical device includes: the stepping motor that drives a hand shake correction optical element provided for an optical system; a hand shake speed detecting means for detecting the hand shake speed of the optical system; and a hand shake correction control means for calculating the number of drive pulses of the stepping motor based upon hand shake speed information outputted from the hand shake speed detecting means and moving the hand shake correction optical element to the position where image blur on an imaging plane is canceled. According to hand shake speed information outputted from the hand shake speed detecting means and information about the number of drive pulses per unit time, the hand shake correcting means alters energy supplied to the stepping motor when the stepping motor is driven.
