PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve good output stability in a gas sensor necessary for having a circuit board built-in, for example, a portable type or a system-incorporated type. SOLUTION: The gas sensor is composed of a perforated cap made of a metal for covering a detection element, a metal case 4, which has a gas inlet port 8 formed thereto provided at a position that does not face the hole 9 of the perforated cap and the circuit board 2, on which the detection element is mounted and constituted so that the perforated cap is fixed in the vicinity of the gas inlet ports 8, and the circuit board 2 is fixed to the case 4 via a cushioning material 21, so that the circuit board 2 is fixed to the case 4 only at one place via the perforated cap. Accordingly, even if the thermal expansion of the circuit board 2 occurs by a change in the ambient temperature, since it is absorbed by the cushioning material 21, the constants of the parts mounted on the circuit board 2 will not change; and as a result, the gas sensor having proper output stability can be provided.
