The method involves rotatively moving a cylinder after cleaning the cylinder, and producing a blowing air flow directed by a sheet guiding device (13) on a shell surface of a cylinder. A residual moisture situated on the cylinder shell surface is dehumidified by a cleaning fluid. The rotary motion of the cylinder and the blowing air flow of the sheet guiding device are stopped after dehumidification of the residual moisture.
