PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inspecting a liquid crystal panel that can easily and highly efficiently detect a defect of the liquid crystal panel. SOLUTION: The method for inspecting a liquid crystal panel is used for inspecting a liquid crystal panel having gate lines 101, source lines 102 provided crossing the gate lines 101 via insulating films, TFTs 103 provided nearby the intersections of the gate lines 101 and source lines 102, pixel electrodes 104 connected to the source lines 102 through the TFTs 103, and counter electrodes 106 arranged opposite to the pixel electrodes 104. A source signal having a pulse width of≤0.6 msec is supplied to the source line 102 and a gate signal whose pulse width is≤2 time as wide as the pulse width of the source signal and which turns on the TFT 103 is supplied to the gate line 101 so as to overlap the latter half of a pulse of the source signal, so that a liquid crystal panel which is a defective is discriminated based upon the difference in transmissivity between a defective portion and a normal portion.
