<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen generating apparatus excellent in energy efficiency and enabling the cost of equipment therein to be reduced. <P>SOLUTION: The hydrogen generating apparatus for producing a hydrogen-rich reformed gas by reforming a hydrocarbon-based gas includes a reformer 1 which burns and reforms the hydrocarbon-based gas by bringing the hydrocarbon-based gas together with oxygen into a catalytic reaction with a catalyst, and a first heat exchanger 3 which heats the hydrocarbon-based gas introduced into the reformer 1 by performing heat exchange between reformed gas and the hydrocarbon-based gas in a reformed gas passage 25 disposed on a downstream side of the reformer 1, therefore heat energy required for reforming is not supplied from the outside by a burner or the like and the raw material gas introduced into the reformer 1 is heated by the heat of the reformed gas obtained by burning and reforming, thereby energy efficiency is improved. It is made unnecessary to attach a burner to the reformer 1, the structure of the reformer 1 itself is simplified, and structure for being provided with heat resistance and pressure resistance is also simplified, and the cost of equipment can be reduced accordingly. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
