PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new bacterium for producing an unusual-polyhydroxyalkanoate in high efficiency at a low cost and to provide a method for producing an unusual polyhydroxyalkanoate using the same. SOLUTION: The bacterium having higher unusual-polyhydroxyalkanoate productivity than a conventional bacterium is collected from among wild strain and variants in an inexpensive substrate or under a specific culture condition.
