<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatically lighted emergency flashlight having a simple structure, able to be miniaturized, capable of maintaining a cell life for a long time, and capable of saving power consumption at a standby. <P>SOLUTION: This flashlight body 1 is equipped with a body case 3 for storing one or a plurality of dry cells 2, 2 in series, and an illuminating part 6 connectively provided in the body case 3 for storing an emitter 4 for illumination. A holder 11 is installed at any place in a house, and composed of a holder body 11a for holding the body case 3 of the flashlight body 1 and an insulating cut-off piece 14 provided in the holder body 11 so as to laterally stretch out and detachably inserted from an opening 10 up to the end face of a pole 2A of the dry cell 2, and conductor contact terminals 15, 15 connected to the secondary side of a relay 16 provided in the holder body 11a are disposed on both surfaces of the cut-off piece 14 which faces the dry cell 2.
