<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technology of suitably inhibiting and/or removing clogging of a liquid injection device in a fuel injector of an internal combustion engine having the device for injecting liquid such as fuel in exhaust gas. <P>SOLUTION: To solve the above problem, a gas injection device 63 is provided for sending gas to a nozzle of the liquid injection device 60 and the gas is sent from the gas injection device 63 toward the nozzle of the liquid injection device 60 every predetermined time or when a clogging degree of the nozzle of the liquid injection device 60 exceeds a predetermined degree so that PM and the like are prevented from adhering to the liquid injection device 60 and/or PM and the like attached to the liquid injection device 60 are blown off.
