PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article transferring device capable of placing articles 2 in order on two loading tables 38 and 40 arranged in parallel with each other in a relay part 10, and miniaturized in structure. SOLUTION: Two loading tables 38 and 40 are arranged in the relay part 10. The first loading table 38 can be moved between a loading position E for receiving the article 2 transferred from an upstream side by a first transferring means 42 and a retreating position F under the loading position. The second loading table 40 can be moved between the loading position E and a retreating position G arranged in parallel with the loading position E in the lateral direction. The article 2 of an upstream side direction turning part 8 is held by an article holding means 48, and transferred onto the first loading table 38 in the loading position E. Continuously, the first loading table 38 is lowered, and the second loading table 40 is moved to the loading position E, and loaded with a following article 2. Both the loading tables 38 and 40 are returned to be arranged in the lateral direction, and the articles 2 on both the tables 38 and 40 are held and transferred by a second transferring means 54.
